COMMISSIONS INFO 2022

Hey everyone! Welcome to my commissions info page! I've gotten a lot of questions about pricing and what kind of things I offer for commissions, so here is where you can find all of the information about creating your own unique piece of art. I'm excited to work with y'all!

Here's what I would LOVE to do more of (though I've done a wide variety over the years, so lets get creative!): I love to do anything similar to the commissions I've done in the past, (couples with funky themes, fantasy art, fan-art)  or anything with similar themes in my personal work (horror, zombies, folklore, moodier work, illustrations). Exception to rule: portraits for studies/offices/businesses/memorial portraits.

I know its a lot to take in at once, especially in the beginning, I will be asking a lot of questions before and during your project to make sure your work of art is exactly what you are looking for!

2022 COMMISSION RATES

To begin the commission process, all commissions require a 50% non-refundable deposit to claim your commission spot. The final 50% will be due upon completion along with shipping costs. Each piece is unique, so will your quote will be as unique.

OILS / ACRYLIC                  

​

​

All Oil/Acrylic paintings will be done on cradled wood panels. These will come ready to hang, and UV Varnished for its protection. The sides will be painted black unless requested otherwise. ("Gallery Wrapped" painting is not available)

​

 

WATERCOLOR / GOUACHE 

Custom sizes are available upon request. Each painting will be framed and ready to hang (color options white or black). These will be painted on Arches 140lb cold press paper. Option to have painting mounted to cradled wood panel at additional cost.

THE COMMISSION PROCESS

If you've made it this far, send me a message! Either through the contact page or send me a direct email to kissthegravestudios@gmail.com. Please send me the media of your choosing, along with an idea of size, as much information, inspiration, and detail as you can about your idea, if you can, include photos! We'll determine your turnaround time (dependent on how many commissions are ahead of you and your due date- so don't wait too long!) You will put down a 50% non-refundable deposit that keeps your commission spot to start. Please note, if the initial 50% deposit is not paid, you do not keep your spot.

STAGES OF A COMMISSION

  1. Gather all inspiration, pics, reference photos, color schemes, ideas, and info on what you want your artwork to be.

  2. Thumbnail sketches to find out what composition best works for the painting. Can change or add anything at this stage.

  3. Finalized drawing done on board or paper. No changes can be made to design.

  4. Rough color mock ups done digitally, color options can be changed, drawing is finalized at this stage.

  5. Paintings are carefully packed and shipped via Fedex.
